Trilobites were a very diverse group of extinct marine arthropods. They first appeared in the fossil record in the Early Cambrian (521 million years ago) and went extinct during the Permian mass extinction (250 million years ago).
Fossil Trilobite Phacops, prepared in the UK to a good standard. There are two outstanding compound eyes. This trilobite shows evidence of repair / restoration through the matrix which is consistent with this type of trilobite, but it is well done.
